Chikin Ramen is celebrating its 58th anniversary with a ramen commercial to end all ramen commercials for this auspicious occasion. It starts off with a young high school girl, at home, making herself an after school snack of instant ramen, when a drone zooms into her apartment and takes away her bowl. She is understandably shocked, but soon, her expression changes and she whips open a closet, revealing a samurai helmet. She puts it on and jumps off her balcony and becomes a parkour superhero, and that’s when the commercial gets really weird like a mashup of Japanese pop culture turned into one major anime-infused fever dream.
